What is the best sizing for the 14inch Squiggle bike

We have previously tested several frame and tyre combinations in the past, and we have concluded that our 14 inch squiggle is the most versatile sized bike provided with the longest usage forecasted for your son or daughter as they get bigger. Our Squiggle bikes are suited best for ages between 3 and 6 years of age. We have had some taller and more capable 2 year olds ride them, but this is not common unless they are tall for their age.

What happens if I break something. Is there parts available?

Don’t worry, here at Squiggle we have your back. We have an huge parts list for our Squiggle support team to work from. We have most parts in stock, and if not, we will get them for you. We pride ourselves on providing the upmost in customer after-sales and will always do our best to ensure your Squiggle rider is not out of action for to long.

What is the charge time on the battery and how long does it last?

The charge time depends directly on how low the battery is. We recommend trying to avoid running the bike to its absolute lowest point of charge as this may impact the future life of the battery long-term. We recommend that whenever the bike reaches the point where there is a red light showing, you should do your best to minimise further use until the bike has cooled down and re-charged.

Can I use training wheels still?

Absolutely you can. If your son or daughter is that little bit to small to touch the ground, we recommend using training wheels, which can be any generic training wheels purchased at any bike store. As the primary aim of our bikes is to assist kids with gaining confidence in their balance, and to help alleviate using training wheels on their regular pedal bike, we do not recommend to keep these fitted to your squiggle bike once your child is old enough to touch the ground. 

How long will my Squiggle ride time be?

Squiggle ride time, like with every electric bike, will vary significantly depending on several factors. A child that weighs 7kgs vs 12kgs may impact the range by 40%. Another important factor is if your rider is heavy on the throttle. At walking pace we have recorded up to 15km range, but going flat-out on a dirt track or pump track, it may only get 10kms. It really is dependent on so many factors! At the end of the day, as long as our Squiggle rider is having fun, it can always be re-charged if needed for longer trips, or a spare battery can be purchased.

What type of throttle is on the Squiggle?

Our bikes, unlike some other brands that use a push button to activate the throttle, use a twist throttle like a real motor bike. At all stages the child has control, and if they have an accident, or let go for any other reason, the spring-loaded throttle will bounce back and the motor will stop straight away. We also include a function to lower the speed down to 5km/h if you are concerned the bike has to much power to your beginner rider.

Do you make even bigger Squiggles?

Unfortunately here at Squiggle we make only the 14inch. Our sole purpose is to get your little Squiggle rider up and going from never riding before. Once a Squiggle rider accomplishes confident riding on a 14inch bike, we find they are more than ready to attempt pedal power. We all love power, but at some time, that exercise plays a big part in a riders progression into bigger bikes.

What is the Warranty and how does it work?

At Squiggle we offer a 2 year warranty on the bike and accessories and a 1 year warranty on the Battery. This is one of the best warranties in the cycling industry and our Squiggle support team pride themselves on offering this back support and service. If you have a significant warranty issue where the bike needs to be returned to us, your only responsibility is to ship get it to our warehouse, the rest of the service is free, including freight back to your normal residence.

Does it matter if I buy from Squiggle or a local store?

Not at all. Squiggle supports all our resellers the same as if you purchased locally from one of your stores.
